April is Autism Awareness month, in case you didn’t know. I say that because I have had the privilege of photographing this amazing kid named Ethan (along with his older brother and younger sister). He has an infectious smile, an amazingly inquisitive mind (he was worried about finding gophers in the gopher holes at our last session), a handsome little face and Ethan is autistic. I totally love photographing Ethan (and his siblings) because, although we never can get those “super posed smiling at the camera photos”, I always feel like I can capture him honestly because he simply doesn’t just fake a smile. When Ethan laughs at something, I capture his true laugh. When he is serious and chatting to me about gophers, I get to capture that too. I love that about him! People with autism are just normal people, they have potential just like everyone else. Click on the badge above to show your support and read about ways to help bring awareness about Autism.
Here’s little Ethan…missing his front tooth and all. Love this kid and excited for his future too! He has amazing parents and two siblings that love him. So happy to have the opportunity to photograph him (and his sweet family too).
“Do not fear people with Autism, embrace them, Do not spite people with Autism unite them, Do not deny people with Autism accept them for then their abilities will shine” – Paul Isaacs
Here is Ethan’s big brother, Daniel…
…and little sister, Emma (we just photographed Emma’s 3 year portraits, more to come on this little beauty very soon!).
I know their mom was over-the-moon with this photo of her three kiddos together, all looking at the camera. Success! I love it too.
